Naturally, after adoring Giovanna Fletcher's two novels and little novel, I just couldn't wait to read Dream a Little Dream; a book that would be afternoon tea on a Saturday, if it was a meal.
If this was a school writing exercise, my teacher would ask, why? Why is it like an afternoon tea? Because it is a gorgeously sweet tale; the cream and the jam represent how well Sarah and her fantasy man, Brett work together; the scone is the honest and funny and heartfelt way this book is written; the refreshing group of friends it involves is like that refreshing sip of tea after overloading a scone with much too much clotted cream. Not that Sarah can get too much of Brett, of course.
Sarah, who is very aware of her single life and works a job she doesn't exactly love, is a protagonist I adore! For Sarah enjoys the little things- a pub quiz with her friends and lazy TV-watching sessions with her best friend. She is funny and caring, and becomes very excited at the promise of furthering herself in her job. You can't not love her.
Sarah finds herself dreaming dreams she has not experienced before. About a guy she hasn't seen for a very long time. Brett Last; a guy she only saw every now and then with her uni friends back at university. While she has to endure seeing her ex who broke her heart (as he is in the same friendship group), as well as his girlfriend who he left her for, Sarah finds some kind of solace and excitement in these sometimes bizarre dreams.
But, you can understand why she is kind of confused when Brett Last turns up at work. Working as the position she wanted. Whilst she carries on dreaming about Brett at night and working with him during the day, we love watching their real friendship evolve.
I felt very warm reading this novel; very at home. Giovanna Fletcher's writing is in a beautiful world of its own. If I would compare it to an evening; it would be a warm one, with a little cool, comfortable breeze and a big cardigan. Why? Because it's gorgeously smiley and hilarious, packed with moments where I verbally express that "awwwww" emotion.

Santa's Reading Sack | Christmas with Billy and Me by Giovanna Fletcher
As a part of Blogmas, I decided to read three Christmas novels and review them on the blogaroony! I started with Christmas with Billy and Me by Giovanna Fletcher, and the sweet burst of festive romance is enough to make me yell, "IT'S CHRISTMASSSSSSSS" at the top of my voice.
*Contains traces of spoiler about Billy and Me*
Billy and Me (which I reviewed HERE) is Giovanna's first novel. Billy and Me oozes magic and sweetness. Sophie, a homely girl working in a teashop, in a fairytale-like turn of events meets Billy; an adored actor. In Chrismtas with Billy and Me time passes to Christmas where Sophie and Billy are in love, and they are part of someone else's fairytale adventure. An anonymous romantic contacts Sophie hoping to use the teashop as a Christmassy, romantic setting for their proposal.
It is a gorgeous song of Christmas. I read it in one sitting with a thick jumper on and a tea by my side. It made me feel festive and all gooey inside. I adored having Sophie and Billy back in my life and to see the progression of them and the other characters since Billy and Me. It was lovely to see everything fitting together like a gorgeous patchwork quilt; a like to this sweet novella.
It's a book of Christmassy magic that will always make my heart smile warmly when I think of it.
Festive Posies & Mistletoe,
The Girl in the Moonlight.

You're The One That I Want - Giovanna Fletcher
22nd May 2014
The sun had risen, I was awake, and very excited to allow my hands to glide happily over the front cover of Giovanna Fletcher's second novel. The day proceeded and I waited.
And waited.
And waited.
It arrived in a smiling box, delivered to the hands of an excitable girl.
I thought, as I stared lovingly at the pink and blue sky of the novel, I was ready for the heart-wrenching rollercoaster that is Giovanna Fletcher's You're The One That I Want. The tears on my face at the final pages of the novel tell a different story: The Story of Maddy, Rob and Ben.

15th June 2014
Since finishing Billy and Me (plugplugplug: you can read my review for that HERE, if you wish) last year, I couldn't wait for Giovanna's next piece of written sunshine. In the form of the gorgeously-beautiful You're The One That I Want, there, in front of me sat the novel that was about to entrance me completely.
You're The One That I Want is about three best friends, Maddy, Rob and Ben. It's a story of a first love, an unrequited love, and a raw love that is maybe not unrequited after all. Yet, the story that makes my heart smile and cry is also a concoction involving the loveliest friendship. A friendship that was maybe more fragile than it appeared, and they didn't want it to break. I didn't want it to break.
Maddy is about to walk down the aisle to marry a true love... Rob. Yet, is there always only one true love?
I think Giovanna tackles having two loves wonderfully in her second novel. Without a doubt, I only sympathised with Maddy and hoped her heart was happy, while aching for Ben and smiling still at Maddy and Rob's relationship. It could be a subject that's hard to make innocent, but my heart was completely attached to each character, each relationship and each friendship, wanting everyone to have their happy ending.
The novel follows the best friends' story through the point of views of Maddy and Ben. I love reading books with a male perspective and reading a story of love through Ben's gorgeously romantic eyes was simply lovely. The way both of the characters tell the story had me completely hooked, and as in love with their love and friendship as they were in love.
Giovanna Fletcher has done it again. I couldn't be more in love with the tale of her second novel. I adore this novel. It felt like I was growing up with the characters throughout the novel. It's sweet, sincere and innocent, and yet heart-breaking and confusing for both me and the characters. It's the most charming read.

A Bit of Book Chatter | May
IT'S BOOK HAUL TIME. This makes for a very happy blogger as May has been a beautiful month book-wise!

You're The One That I Want by Giovanna Fletcher
I have been waiting for this glorious delight since I fell deeply and unconditionally in love with Billy and Me, Giovanna Fletcher's first novel. I am well into this stunningly sweet and captivating book and I can't wait to get my review up! (I'm going to cheekily link it HERE when it is up!) The book that I would describe as a heart-warming sunset to read, is about three best friends, Rob, Ben and Maddy. An unbreakable bond between them could be weakened, though, by love.
Thirteen Weddings by Paige Toon
New Paige Toon books make me giddyishly (I personally think this should be a word) excited. She writes books that, to me, are the equivalent to eating many butterfly cakes in the sun with lemonade by my side. I can't wait to start this. Thirteen Weddings is about Bronte and the re-introduction to a short-lived romance, Alex. Named as a "bittersweet novel", I am feeling butterflies at the thoughts of Paige Toon making me fall in love with another fictional character.
Lolito by Ben Brooks
I am so very intrigued by this book. The wonderful Amanda from Adventures from the Bookshelf and I decided to read the same book and review it. After a gruelling contest of picking a genre and name out of an online decider, Lolito by Ben Brooks was the winner and I am more than excited to read it. It's about a young 15 year old boy that has a relationship with a middle-aged woman and I feel like it's going to teach me a lot.

77 Days Until...
As it's World Book Day and I have set myself a blogging challenge (that you can read about HERE), I thought I'd write a different kind of post for my blog today: It's new, unreleased book chatter time
I am counting down the days until Giovanna Fletcher's second novel, You're The One That I Want and the thought of it makes me "asdfghjkl." Imagining having that gorgeously-covered book in my hands, for it to be ready to be at the receiving end of a soft stroke and loving eyes, ready to be adored by me, is exciting. "I will cherish you forever," I shall whisper to it and it will respond by being an AWESOME book, I know for sure.

Oh, just marvel in its beauty for moments. Take as long as you want because it's like a single sparkling star in the solitary night's sky.
Waiting for this novel will be a beautiful form of torture.
The blurb:
Maddy, dressed in white, stands at the back of the church. At the end of the aisle is Rob - the man she's about to marry. Next to Rob is Ben - best man and the best friend any two people ever had.
And that's the problem.
Because if it wasn't Rob waiting for her at the altar, there's a strong chance it would be Ben. Loyal and sensitive Ben has always kept his feelings to himself, but if he turned round and told Maddy she was making a mistake, would she listen? And would he be right?
Best friends since childhood, Maddy, Ben and Rob thought their bond was unbreakable. But love changes everything. Maddy has a choice to make but will she choose wisely? Her heart, and the hearts of the two best men she knows, depend on it...
*Feels tingly happiness and warmth.* I can't wait. Giovanna's first book, Billy and Me (you can read my review HERE, if you so please) is one of my favourite books and through reading the blurb of You're The One That I want, my heart is already with Maddy's, as confused as hers... Rob or Ben?
There are only 77 days to go! Let's all hold hands around a campfire and get through these lonely days together. Are you excited about the release of You're The One That I Want? Oh, of course you are! Comment below - and let me know about any other books you're excited about the release of!
You can pre-order it HERE on Amazon and HERE on iTunes.

The Fabulous Billy and Me
*Contains traces of spoiler*
Fabulous. This is, of course the first word that comes to mind when I recall my 24 hour journey with Billy and Sophie. The next words would be sweet, tragic, heart-breaking, eye-opening, charming. Feet up, slouchy-leave-me-alone-it's-time-to-read-Billy and Me-clothes on, a glass of water by my side, I was ready to easily fall into the world of Sophie May. Oh, and how I did fall.
A novel with a small village, a shop selling homemade cakes and the same people you've known all your life: sounds picturesque, right? Sophie May experiences the tough side of the intimacy of her home, all through her secret, her sad past. Eventually picking herself back up, Sophie is a lovely and homely girl who catches the attention of Billy Buskin, "teen hot-shot" and here is where Sophie's life becomes more like a fairy-tale, but also a little scarier too.
I was constantly "aw"ing at the romantic gestures and words of Billy and sighing at the sadness of the reality behind fame and crying at the heart-breaking moments but smiling at the morals behind the events. I like that Billy teaches Sophie to have a better opinon of herself and that Sophie teaches Billy the result of being egotistical - and the beauty behind reading a book! I like the peace that the characters find and the dreams that the characters achieve. I love the relationships.
Sophie and Molly being best friends is something that highlights the beauty of the novel: the age between the two of them being invisible in their friendship. Sophie's confidence is shown to be down to Molly, the woman with "one of the biggest hearts", but what I felt, despite Sophie never admitting it, was that the two of them needed each other. Sophie was Molly's saviour too.
It's so awesome to see the fantastic reviews about Billy and Me, reviews from book-fans. It must be amazing for Giovanna to receive complements her creation. In the long-run, I suppose I read the novel because of Tom [Fletcher], but I know, being a chick-lit fan, that I would have found this beauty. I read Gi's article about her "modest success" being compared to Tom's, but she has made this novel a huge, huge success. I have been a fan of Gi for a long long time and it has been epitomised by one of my favourite books of all time (that I read in less than 24 hours because of its grippingness): Billy and Me. Thank you Gi for giving me another perfect character to dream about at night. I love you Billy.
You're cool as ice-cubes Gi and a bloomin' great writer!

Billy and Me
With my copy of "Billy and Me" pre-ordered and ready for the 23rd May of this year, I am not sure as to whether I am fully prepared to weep at the romance and beauty of what I know will be perfection by Giovanna Fletcher. Information on Amazon:
When you've got the dream boyfriend everything should be perfect, right?
So why isn't it? wonders Sophie May.
When Sophie and Billy met and fell in love, she thought she was living in a fairytale.

After all, Billy is an actor, a teen heartthrob adored by girls around the world - and he loves Sophie. She's the only girl for him.
But being on Billy's arm comes at a price. Their relationship has thrown Sophie right in the spotlight after years of shying away from attention.
Can she handle the constant scrutiny that comes with being with Billy? But most of all, is she ready for her secret heartbreak to be found out and shared with the nation?
Charming, heartwarming and utterly romantic, Billy and Me will completely capture your heart.
Link to pre-order: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/1405909951/ref=s9_simh_gw_p14_d3_i1?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=1TQNM7F6NX0MHWYMYNF4&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=358549767&pf_rd_i=468294
Waiting to have a copy of this book will be a heart-warming torture and I shall embrace it every day! Giovanna's blog posts, tweets and photos are awesome and so I do not doubt for one second that this will be the perfect recipe coated in lots and lots of sugar-drops.
Sunsets & Shooting Stars,
The Girl in the Moonlight.
